Today I think I scared myself.
I'm sitting in a office that my business partner and I have a month to month lease on. We decide that at the end of April we need to be elsewhere (and had already informed the landlady). I happen to mention in casual conversation that I am ready to work in a different office. This one is too cold. I don't feel comfortable here. [and there are a host of other more problematic issues which I won't go into]. In other words, I'm looking forward to the end of April when we move out and relocate.
We walk out into the parking lot to get into our cars. As we do so, the landlady and another gentleman arrive. The "gentleman" is a potbellied crusty old fellow who turns out to be the building inspector. He informs us that we must move out of the building no later than tomorrow. We don't have an occupancy permit. The occupancy permit is tied into related expensive issues that prompted our desire to move in the first place.
Wow, I wasn't expecting that. Did my simple desire to move create this rapid response? It wasn't exactly what I had in mind, since we have paid a month's rent, and will be getting only a week out of it. But hey, since the decision has been taken out of our hands, let's get on with it and do it!
Now, if I could only figure out how to attract wealth faster! Oh yes, I don't have to figure out the HOW! Just keep that sense of well-being coming. And take action as guided. Easy advice to give myself, and I need practice in remembering to follow it.
What do you think? Can Law of Attraction work too fast?

Hi Debbie and Everyone,
There is no 'too fast', the Universe (and Law of Attraction) works perfectly. Absolutely, you communicated via your vibration about it and were in a flow and the universe orchestrated. People sometimes ask me 'did you set a specific intention for that?' and I say quite often that I might have had a desire for it and maybe I did or I didn't, being in the flow will orchestrate all good things, even good things you may not have verbalised or had conscious comprehension of but they were there in your vibration
(Oh and the trickle of wealth gets quicker when one isn't checking it lol, there is already a flow, and that flow can/will get bigger and bigger)
Happy moving and Abundant fun :)

P.S. Just to clarify what I meant about wealth and it being quicker when one isn't checking, it's when someone is going 'is it here yet?', 'is it here yet?' that the implication is that there is an absence of it (or that it's not quite so quick or something like that), when one is in the flow and feeling and living it it has a stronger stream of energy summoning it
Just some thoughts
You have a lovely blog Debbie, lovely interacting with you when we did
Best wishes

Deb,
I personally find that the Law of Attraction sometimes works too well, rather than necessarily too fast or slow. You know, when you find yourself thinking "Careful what you wish for..."
Divine timing is a factor that I feel works so well without my help, it's the one thing I've learned to release.

Hemal, I appreciate two of the points you made - 1) we don't have to work hard with our intentions as much as simply being in the flow. Some of the most amazing things that have come to me happened when I didn't specifically ask for them, but managed the energy of well-being. The second point is a great distinction - to live in the energy of abundance instead of "hovering" about with fretful questions about when it's coming.
Slade - "Be careful what you wish for" - ain't that the truth. But the important piece you remind us of is to release the need to know the when, by trusting the timing of the Divine. Ask. Expect (by releasing!). Receive. It's that middle part that sometimes gets me!

When we think that the Universe is moving too fast for us that thought is coming from Ego which doesn't like change at all. I doubt that anything moves "too fast" for our Higher Self and purpose.

It sounds like you were picking up signs from the universe (feelings of discomfort) that this wasn't the right place to be. When you gave notice, the universe said, "Whee! She said yes! Let's roll, boys!" and things kicked into high gear. My thought is that things changing this quickly means you are definitely being moved *toward* the new situation that's already waiting for you. Trust, trust, trust. It's there. Remember that fear and excitement feel the same physiologically -- adrenaline, heart pounding, faster breathing. It's our interpretation that makes the difference. You're safe, held in the palm of the Divine.

Patricia and Lisa - thanks for chiming in with your respective points. I hadn't thought about it, but our Higher Self probably doesn't think within the limits of time as ego does. And I do like the thought that the ideal office space is on hold for us, as we are being moved "towards" it.

According to me The Law of Attraction simply says that you attract into your life whatever you think about. Your dominant thoughts will find a way to manifest. But the Law of Attraction gives rise to some tough questions that don’t seem to have good answers. I would say, however, that these problems aren’t caused by the Law of Attraction itself but rather by the Law of Attraction as applied to objective reality.

Dominant thoughts eventually manifest, as you say. And yet, the emotional component - that is, the energy we attach to the dominant thought plays a pivotal role as well. Maybe it's not so much that the Law of Attraction creates problems. It's our lack of consciousness and awareness of our focus and energy that can create undesired manifestations.

That is a great example of how the universe loves speed.
I had a similar thing happen to me (on a much smaller scale mind you) when I saw something shiny and new that I really wanted, but in my mind I couldn't justify the expense because what I already owned was working just fine. Within a day it broke in a very messy fashion and required me to replace it, which of course gave me exactly what I wanted....
Not sure if it is taboo to post links here, but my personal story is here:

Thanks for sharing your story.

I love your story. I'm sure most people can relate to this. And of course it can happen on a large scale - like when I was in my late 20's and kept complaining about a job I was in. I finally got fired and it shocked me! I also had a friend who was so busy and needed to rest. He finally broke his leg and got laid up.
The point - we need to be intentional and conscious!
Thanks for visiting.

Hi its John Peace from the Law-of-Attraction-Guide.com, love your post...
Can the Law of Attraction work to quickly?
Reading your story, I guess that we should be thankful that we are normaly blessed with this thing called time!

Hi John . . . time is supposedly an abstraction . . . doesn't really "exist." But it seems to have some uses for we mortal humans, doesn't it?
Posted by: Deb Call | April 23, 2009 at 05:10 PM
I believe the law of attraction works fast depends of the need of the person.

Annie - interesting thought. How we respond to that need may influence the speed of LOA.

I definitely believe in divine timing and things happening for our highest good. When you put the energy of wanting to move into the universe, it responded quickly because for whatever reason (you may not know just yet), this was for your highest good. I often find that when I am questioning something, whether I'm completely conscious of it or not in the moment, I seem to get answers within a couple of days. Then I think back and go "yeah, I was wondering about that...hmmm." It's so exciting when you become aware of these so-called "coincidences". :-)

Indeed it is exciting when we become aware. It's an art to remember to align!
